A Garden Visit – Munsinger Gardens

My intent on Gingham Gardens is to share mostly my own gardens, but I love to visit others gardens and will share those on occasion. A few weeks ago I went on a little field trip (as we like to call it) with some girlfriends to Munsinger Gardens in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Unfortunately, I did not bring along my good DSLR camera, so all I had was my iPhone to take pictures. If was an incredibly hot day, but we had a great time.

If you are interested, you can read more about Munsinger Gardens here and here. This post will be picture heavy with not many words, because the pictures speak for themselves.

I love this roly poly liatris. I’m not sure what variety it is but it seemed to be shorter and chunkier, kind of like me, and I really like it.

This butterfly likes it too. Lots of butterflies in the gardens, but difficult finding one resting long enough to take a picture.

I love the backdrop of the row of arborvitaes in the next set of pictures.Munsinger Gardens featured at Gingham Gardens Munsinger Gardens featured at Gingham Gardens Munsinger Gardens featured at Gingham Gardens Munsinger Gardens featured at Gingham Gardens Munsinger Gardens featured at Gingham Gardens

Notice the lovely brick paths. They were all through the sunny part of the gardens.

There were also various arts and craft vendors at the gardens the day we visited, so it was a bit crowded, but I was still able to take a few pictures with no people in them. The sunny perennial areas were definitely my favorite and the flowers were putting on quite the show despite the heat the day we were there.

My senses just get overloaded at the beauty, all I can do is just stop and stare, and try to take in all God’s beauty in his lovely creation of flowers.

Here are some pictures of the shady area. We were a bit disappointed that the shady areas were not better tended too. Some of the areas were so weedy that I just didn’t enjoy them at all. The sunny parts of the gardens were pristine, so we couldn’t figure it out. At least the shady areas gave us a little reprieve from the heat.
