I pretty much love all things fall. I don’t like to think about what comes next, but we’ll just stay positive and think fall happiness. I love the chill in the air, sunny fall days, bonfires, sweatshirts, littles running through leaves, and the list could go on and on. I love to deck out the house inside and out with fall decor. I actually do more outside. Did you see my previous fall decor posts? If not, you can see them here and here.
I don’t know what one would call my style, but I do know what I like. I love farmhouse, but not all white. I like lots of vintage things, but mostly in the gardens. I like a little shabby chic, but not all white and pink. I’m definitely not trendy and don’t want to be. I love to create little vignettes both outside in the gardens and inside. So that’s just what I did with my fall decor.
Here’s the mantel on our little faux fireplace. The picture over the fireplace stays year round, but it just so happens that it really works for fall. Sorry about the glare in the picture. I need to work on my indoor photography skills.
Last year about this time, these red trucks were all the rage. Like I said, I’m not trendy, but I love this truck. I’d be pleased as punch if I could have a real one. I added a little bale of hay for the bed and the little scarecrows are going for a ride.
Here’s the other side of the mantel. I love using old books in my decor too. Oh wait, I’m supposed to say vintage books.
I like to change up this two-tiered galvanized tray for various holidays and seasons. More scarecrows – love them.
Here’s another little vignette I put together, using my DIY chalkboard sign. Another one of my favorite things is Yankee Candles. Harvest is my absolute favorite scent for fall.
So, as you can see I don’t go crazy with indoor fall decor, just a few little touches. I usually try to have both the inside and outside decorated around the first of October and then leave it up thru Thanksgiving. Do you add any fall decor to your home? Indoors or outdoors?
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my fall decor. I hope you take time to enjoy the season with those you love. I will be back in a few days with another gardening post. It’s hard to believe that in the middle of October, I still can get some beautiful pictures in the gardens.
