Welcome Daylily Season! – I am a lover and collector of daylilies. I collect mostly rebloomers. I will run out of space to plant them before I run out of daylilies on my wish list. Here are some that I’ve grown over the years and lots of my favorites:
Here’s Double Joanna – yes, she’s my name sake. Several years ago I did a search to see if there were any daylilies that had my name or at least part of it, and low and behold there was. The next task was to find her for sale. I think I ended up putting out a “looking for” ad on eBay and someone responded. She’s now several years old and has been divided many times. After living in a couple of pots for almost a year, her and her babies made the move and are happily in the ground at their new home. I don’t think they are going to bloom this year, but I’m patiently waiting.
New to my garden this year is “Dancing With Julie”. I have a friend named Julie and she has a great picture of us dancing together at her daughter’s wedding, so when I saw this daylily on Smokey’s Daylilies website, I knew I had to have it. Besides, she’s a rebloomer and she’s beautiful just like my friend.
Here is South Seas Daylily. I love, love, love the coral color of this daylily. Another reblooming daylily.
Here’s sweet, little Bertie Ferris. A bright, peachy colored daylily with little flowers, but tons of blooms.
Have you ever seen a more intense yellow than in this beautiful specimen – Gaudy Gaudy daylily. Perhaps she is a bit gaudy, but I think she’s gorgeous.
Here’s another yellow – Buttered Popcorn. This daylily gets huge, sort of like a shrub and just keeps blooming and blooming.
Next up a double daylily called Style Plus – I love all her layers and muted colors.
Meet Tropical Heatwave – a beautiful orange daylily. This was one of my favorites at my former home, but it didn’t make the move to well. I’m hoping by next summer it will have settled in and start performing like it did before.
On the softer side, here’s a classic, Fairy Tale Pink. This daylily is a prolific rebloomer. In fact, I don’t believe she stops blooming once she starts.
I think I will stop here for today. I have so may more daylilies that I want to share with you, but I’m afraid this post will blow up if I add anymore pictures. That means there’ll be at least one more Daylily Season post.
As always, thanks for stopping by and taking my little garden tour featuring my daylilies. I love comments and would appreciate it if you’d take a minute to leave one. Also, if you have done so already, please subscribe to receive my latest posts.
